Supernatural this week was a filler episode, there isn't going to be another plot baring episode (at least in my opinion) in till episode 15, when Castiel returns. The episode plot this week was about Grandpapy Winchester, or Henry Winchester, who is a member of a secret organization that deals with the supernatural... Initiative, for the BTVS fans. Anyway, Grandpapy travels in to the future to keep the knowledge box safe from Abaddon. Henry shows up in Sam and Deans closet, and then thus the rising action began!
I honestly really liked this episode, it just annoyed me a little, like, I wish that someone would have mentioned Castiel, or that Sam and Dean were Michael and Lucifer's vessels, OR the fact that the setting was placed in 2013! What the hell!?! When is should have been 2015, let me explain.
At the end of season 5, 2010, when Sam fell in the pit, Dean went to go live with Lisa and Ben for one WHOLE year, making it about mid 2011 when Soulless Sassy Gay Sam showed up, then by the end of season 6 (in the SPN verse) it should have been mid 2012. By the end of season 7 it should have been 2013; so it's 2013 when Dean and Castiel are sent to Brokeback PurGAYtory, and they're in Purgatory for one whole year, one whole FRICKING year, making it 2014! When season 8 starts its mid-way through 2014, so by now, since the season is more than half way through, it should be 2015!
So tell me why the hell does Dean have a license plate that says 20 fucking 13!? 2013!? Just... uuhhhhh, goddamnit.

All in all, it was a good episode.

You'd think Crowley and the angels would HAUL ASS at the feeling of a Knight-of-Hell. You'd also think the Knight-of-Hell would sense Lucifer's absence. This episode could've started a captivating mini-arc, but alas, we end up disappointed.

There are other bigger plot holes like the fact that when Dean went back in time a guy comes into the diner and tells John to say hi to his dad.

I know, but this was the biggest plot hole in episode 12

I swear they should hire a few obsessive fangirls to point out the plot holes. It's very much a shit forgot about that kind of thing.

I agree with this. But I don't think that the license plate shows the actual year. I don't know it, cause I live in Germany, but I think so. They changed their license plate because of trouble with the police. I think the last change was when Eve (or Eva?) was there with the Jefferson Starships.

No, :) when Henry went out side the motel, about 15 min in to the ep, he looked at Deans plates and read 2013 aloud

You have to get new plates every year here. They sometimes show the next year like 2014 if that's when they expire so the tags are right.

Alright, I see. So then the story timeline is a mess or it was just a mistake. I dunno.

The timeline has been screwed since the beginning but they keep a pretty fluid timeline with how long cases take and how long it takes to drive from one place to the next.

Ah, you don't change licence plates each year, do you? So the plate could be from 2013.
Anyway, I liked the ep too though I'm not normally not into MOWTOW. But I wholeheartedly agree: They should have told Henry a story of their own, about Cas (who, since he seems to be flitting around doing miracles these days, could have saved their Granddad) and Lucy and the whole... stuff. It was also weird to see the boys being so civil again.

Yeah, it just annoyed me that they were talking about angels, but no one mentioned Castiel, or the fact that they were Michael and Lucifer's vessels.

okay. Around here you have the plates as long as the car runs under your name - which can be forever. Some people still drive with the old plates from 25 years ago.

You can have the same plate for decades here too as long as you live in the same place for all of those years. When you pay the tax on the registration every year they give you a sticker with the month and year which you put on the car. Technically speaking it could be 2015 and they could have a 2013 tag, but as much as they drive around they'd get hassled for it by the cops. Some places are downright bitchy about it and if you are even a month late they will ticket you. Some places this doesn't happen. I also know that's not the original tag (KAZ 2Y5 is), so it's less likely to be the case especially when you factor in that Sam had the car for that year and he was playing normal so he'd probably have updated it.
